The course develops the four core language skills together, with particular attention to communicating clearly and confidently.

Practise everyday conversations, introductions, questions and clear pronunciation in a supportive setting.

Build confidence following instructions, recognising key information and responding appropriately.

Reading & writing

Work with practical texts and develop clearer written messages for study, work and daily life.

The offer is for adult learners referred through a participating organisation and placed in an available funded cohort. Learners seeking a course directly can choose:

  • General English group classes
  • Personalised One-to-One lessons
  • IELTS preparation
  • OET preparation for healthcare professionals
  • Coding and cyber-security programmes

The six-week journey

Weeks 1–2

Everyday communication

Introductions, useful questions, listening for key information and taking part in simple conversations.

Weeks 3–4

English for study and work

Following instructions, describing experience, writing practical messages and developing useful vocabulary.

Weeks 5–6

Confidence and next steps

Longer conversations, short presentations, review and guidance on a suitable next learning route.

Throughout

Supported practice

Live teaching, guided activities, opportunities to ask questions and useful practice between sessions.
